Md. Nazrul Islam

Md. Nazrul Islam is a member of BCS (Administration) Cadre of 1984 batch. His date of birth is 5th June 1959. He was born in the village ‘Chandrokona’ under Nokla Upazilla in the district of Sherpur. His father’s name is Md. Ansar Ali and mother’s name is Mst. Rezia Khatun.
He did his B A (Hons) & Masters in History from Dhaka University in the session of 1982 & 1983 respectively. He appeared at BCS examination held in October, 1984 and joined the Bangladesh Civil Service as a member of Administration Cadre in 21st January 1986 as Assistant Commissioner.
In various capacities of the administration, he accomplished his duties and responsibilities with utmost reputation and sincerity. The most notable position includes Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Boda, Nabiganj, Bahubal and Habiganj Sador; Deputy Director, Department of Youth Development, Mymensingh; Chief Executive Officer, Netrokona Zilla Parishad; Zonal Settlement Officer, Mymenshingh; Director General, National Academy for Primary Education; Chief Executive Officer, Dhaka North City Corporation; Administrator, Dhaka South City Corporation; Chairman, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and Member (Secretary), Planning Commission. He has been serving as Secretary, Road Transport and Highways Division since 15th October 2017.
He attended various trainings, seminars and workshops in abroad as part of his official purpose notably in Norway, Malaysia, France, Germany, Poland, USA, Switzerland, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, Japan, UK, India, Russian Federation, Canada and South Korea.
In his personal life, Md. Nazrul Islam is blessed with one son and one daughter. His wife, Jharna Parvin is a home-maker.
